 Cyberschool:  Chinese New Year 2007 - February 18- March 4

Chinese New Year celebration (Feb. 18 -Mar. 4, 2007) begins with the New Moon on the first day of the new year and ends on the full moon 15 days later. The 15th day of the new year is called the Lantern Festival.

The first day of each month begins on the darkest day of the month.

2007 - The year of the Pig

According to legend Buddha invited all the animals to meet him for the Chinese new year.  12 animals came and so he named a year after each one.  This year is the year of the Pig.
