Ice Cream

1/2 cup half and half
1 T. sugar
1/4 to 1/2 tsp vanilla
Put that in a snack size baggie and place this baggie in
1 quart size freezer bag
Add 6 tbsp. salt
3 cups ice
Shake 5 to 8 minutes.

Have you ever seen mom or dad put salt on the walk or drive way in the winter?  Why did they do that?

When we add the salt to the ice it lowers the freezing point of the ice.  The ice melts and surrounds the ice cream in a mixture colder than 32 degrees and makes the ice cream freezer faster.
